Mistakes In Judging A Prophetic Word

Mistakes In Judging A Prophetic Word

We cannot judge a prophetic word only by the definition “if it comes to pass it is from God”

There are many angles of prophetic words.

Sometimes God gives guidance and asks us to apply or do something. Then if we disobey then the fruit of the word – will be that it does not come to pass. as God needed us to be involved in the process.

We are called to partner with God and his prophetic promises.

“If it comes to pass – its from God” definition is to simple to apply to all prophetic ministry. It suggests that God is the only one in the equation. In some words, God just declares he will do it and it will happen. but we can not put all prophetic ministry in a box and say this is how it is.

Another angle are prophetic words that are bigger than us, for example given for generations. How will we judge a prophetic promise that will not unfold until in another generation and those that come after us.

In evaluating Prophecy discernment is needed by the word of God, wisdom, spiritual insight as well as experience. If four people stand around a square building and describe the building each person will see the truth and can share it as truth – but they can not see the walls on the other sides. It is always good to remember that there are many perspectives on how people see and evaluate things. In Ecclesiastic we read that there is security in many counselors or many insights. One of the pitfalls of prophetic is being so narrowminded that you only see from your own perspective. The eagle soars over the walls and can see the maze from above lets not get stuck on ignorance.

Listen more, judge less, Love greater.
